Frozen Winter Morning with Wyvern

So I originally started out with the background and knew that something had to go into the fg.  I envisioned it in my mind and did a sketch of what I wanted.  The bloody dude came after the wyvern was created.  Just something I saw and knew I had to make it happen.  This was the first time I was able to put something down that I wanted down.  I usually struggle with the characters.  I attribute this success to sharpening my skills, understanding light and form better, and practicing, practicing, and more practicing.

My wife thinks I ruined it by adding the gore, but I don't think so.  I think it adds contrast to the beautiful scene and life needs more contrast.
