Glacial Fortress by jjpeabody Glacial Fortress by jjpeabody
Can you believe this was only about 1 hour in photoshop? Mountains are getting pretty easy to paint. I just wanted to see how fast I could push something out.

Cheers

I'm really liking the texture work and detail in these speed paintings. The white sky gives it quite a striking composition, but I wonder if it might be a bit too bright -- hiding something in the far background. That said, it directs the eye to the towers and mountainous landscape. I like the level of detail given that it's about an hour of work on your part. Very nice!

After I haven't looked at this image in a while, I tend to agree. The background is a bit too white.

Ha, I guess one word I was looking for re: the bright sky is "atmosphere!" It's a very atmospheric picture, that's one thing I really like about it.

Wow! It's wonderful! *-----* The colors remind me of a video game called Assasins Creed. But I love it! *u*

Looks like Vermeer or Goya were much much worse than you for they needed months and years to complete.

But I don't have to wait for the digital paint to dry :D

Besides, I think they put more thought into their art. This was just: stroke - "ya, that looks good", "oh, that looks like a lake" -stroke(s)

Yep, when you don't have to mess with colors and only values it goes really quick. In mountains, there's a lot more contrast and you use that to indicate snow with a simple brush that does some texture. You mainly have to have your values right.
