Of the series, this is by far my favorite. * The morning sky was awash with the grey brush of a post-storm fog. Tropical Storm Laina pushed the low-tide down the rocky shore by a hundred feet or so, allowing the flotsam to easily accumulate. The Veridan Ocean would be fine. Of her coastal cities and harbors, I can not say the same with all confidence. Pass on by, my dear traveller, for the morning mist is just the beginning here on the coast. The air will thicken with tension and heartache as the fishermen and women come back to find their homes washed clean of civilization. No boat survived the storm of course, all but shipwrecked in the bays and crannies of the tumultuous horizon. Of the 500 souls that lived in and around the Fjern Cove region, more that 400 of which working the sea, less than a score survived. Those poor wretches would rebuild of coure - a stubborn lot, the families of the Fjern. * Wish I could add more.
